Imphal: Twelve gold bars weighing round 19.95 kg had been seized by Customs officers in Imphal in the present day, a division official mentioned.The gold bars had been discovered hid in a car plying between Imphal and Jiribam round this morning, Customized Division SP N Meiraba mentioned.
The seized gold bars valued at about Rs 5.9 crore, he mentioned including that the gold bars had been introduced from Myanmar.
Appearing on a tip off, the car was intercepted at Yumlembam locality in Imphal West district and the motive force Md Nazimuddin was taken to custody for investigation.
