All of the major players in the smartphone world are about to release their latest flagship smartphones and the latest version of their mobile OS in the coming weeks. Apple has already confirmed that it will be holding a press event on September 9, and it’s widely expected to unveil the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus and announce the release date of iOS 9, which will likely be released the following week.
Details regarding Google’s next-generation flagship Nexus smartphones have been leaking at a steady rate, and its LG-built Nexus 5 (2015) has been compared to popular devices like the Samsung Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 and iPhone 6 on video. The Nexus 5 (2015) and Huawei Nexus phablet will be the first devices to ship with Android 6.0 Marshmallow and current rumors suggest a late September or October release.
Microsoft is also planning to announce its latest flagship smartphone and phablet, the Lumia 950 (Talkman) and 950 XL (Cityman) in the coming weeks. The images show thin devices with a protruding rear camera and Windows 10 on board.
A new report claims that AT&T and T-Mobile are set to be the exclusive U.S. carriers of Microsoft’s new Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL. The tipster says AT&T “may carry both devices and may start selling them in early November,” while T-Mobile has supposedly signed on to carry at least one of the handsets.
